Sharing the same passion for jazz guitar—and especially Django Reinhardt’s Gypsy style—renowned French luthier François Baudemont and renowned guitarist Aurélien Metsch created LaBelle Guitars to bring the acoustic French jazz guitar to a wider audience.

Designed in France by Francois and assembled in New York City by Aurelien, these guitars are hand-built using the traditional methods and fine materials of the great luthiers, such as Selmer, Maccaferri, Busato, and Favino. The guitars are finished with a French shellac varnish that allows the carefully selected wood to “breathe” and helps create their special sound.
